A survey released by Intel earlier this week finds that 9 out of 10 of us are annoyed by others mobile behavior. The results reveal that over 80 percent of adults have experience strange public behaviors that involve the use of technology.
While I will admit to checking email and following my tweeps while out for dinner with my husband, I cannot imagine some of the reported behaviors. Never would I use a notebook in a public restroom or carry on a conversation during church or a funeral.
In spite of near unanimous agreement that there is a lack of consideration when it comes to using mobile devices, 38 percent of those surveyed admitted to at least sometimes texting or typing when in the company of others.
With notebooks getting smaller and cell phones that are email and internet enabled, there is clearly a temptation to just pull that mobile device out of your pocket, handbag or briefcase and start typing. This is a trend that isn't likely to change and in fact, many of us expect that we can contact our friends and business colleagues electronically and get and instant response, no matter the day or time!
